That is why I have never trusted non-transparent updates. I don't understand exactly what caused the problem, but the only thing I'm sure of is that after installing the 2023 driver for the nvidia 1050 graphics card, the performance on the computer dropped noticeably...

Could it be that this manufacturer hates me because I am now using this card? I don't play games and rarely watch movies and do graphics drawings, it's never slow, I don't need a new graphics card. But I'm using Windows 7 and damn it I'm using a 7 year old card! I'm not a profitable customer for brands, but if I see that my video card is causing noticeable performance problems in normal windows usage i might consider buying a new card.

I don't know this is a quick review and I'm not sure. But after installing the old driver everything became fine and fast. (I uninstalled and reinstalled it twice and monitored the performance in between to make sure it was caused by the driver update).

To hell with all the updates!

Just for context, Nvidia has been known to release drivers meant for older cards that nerfed some of it's performance when the card has run well beyond it's product life cycle.

Use DDU to remove all GPU drivers(intel, AMD and Nvidia) in Safe Mode, then manually install the latest GPU driver sourced from Nvidia's support site in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

They shouldn't do this, it's disrespectful to the user and an attempt to take away their control of the product they purchased. There is no better or worse hardware, just hardware that may or may not meet your needs. This card meets my needs... After installing the new driver, even the mouse started to move slowly and the scanners started to come late. However, a computer with ddr4 32gb ram and ssd disk will never experience such slowness even if it uses an onboard graphics card.

Of course I sent the driver to hell with a tool that deleted the dll and regedit files and just went back to the old school driver from the cd that came with it. Now everything is fine and fast. Also thank you for the information and DDU advice!

You are running an OS that is no longer supported. This is not only totally unsafe, but any complaints you might have about software or drivers that no are longer working on your computer are inadmissible. Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7 in 2020, so Nvidia is absolutely not required to release drivers that are supported on your outdated OS.

I know you don't like it and I understand, but unfortunately, it's how things work in the computer world. OS and other software need to be constantly updated for obvious security reasons and older versions have to be put to retirement. It has nothing to do with "not being a profitable customer". If you want an up-to-date driver that works on your system then you gonna have to update your OS to a supported version.
