I have an MSI z97-G45 Gaming motherboard with and intel I5 processor. I recently upgraded to a PNY CS2000 SSD. I did a fresh install with windows 10, but upon reboot it will not boot from SSD. I try to find it in boot menu and do not see it in the bios. But when I plug in my old Hard Drive with the SSD, I can see the SSD with Windows 10 on it. Any thoughts>

Did you have your HDD plugged in when you installed windows to the SSD?

If so the "System Reserved" partition that windows makes will have been put on the HDD.

When you say you don't see the SSD in BIOS, you mean you don't see it as a boot device in BIOS, not that the SSD doesn't show up under connected devices?

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if I would get one or not, so let me give you more information as I worked on it for five hours yesterday. The motherboard bios is fully up to date. I contacted the manufacture and they told me it should be no compatibility issues with the drive. The manufacture walk me through the bios to make sure everything was set up correctly and it is. I have since unplugged the drive cleared the CMOS and then proceeded to format and reinstall the operating system. When I start up the computer it tells me to enter a boot device yet when I go into the bios it shows the drive there. When I selected as the boot device it takes me to the following error "efi shell version 2.31" I have researched that there are and have tried multiple solutions but nothing works. I have tried switching the SATA port, I have tried switching the cable, and to no avail. Once I finally gave up last night, I put the old hard drive back in restarted the computer and it booted right up without issue. When I book with that drive and look at the SST it shows windows had done and install but for some reason when my computer boots it does not recognize that there is an operating system there. I also tried calling Microsoft last night and they were no help at all. The only person left the call is P and why and I tried last night with no luck getting through. I am at a loss for where to go next. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again for your response, and have a great weekend.
