Question My computer won't boot after upgrading my cpu and adding a gpu.

CPU: AMD RYZEN 7 2700X
RAM: PNY X Anarchy 16 GB
RAM: Crucial 4 GB
GPU: Galaxy GeForce GTX 660 ti gc 66NNH7DV6WXZ
SSD: WD Easystore 240 GB

I tried resetting the bios twice

Oh yeah Windows 10 home

Make sure the original memory is fully/firmly seated in their slots. It is common for them to become dislodged while adding/removing memory.

Is your display connected to the GPU or to one of the video connectors attached to your motherboard? Should be GPU.

I have two monitors (for streaming), one is connected to the card, the other to the motherboard

The one connected to the motherboard will never get a signal. The 2700X lacks an integrated video controller. Both must be connected to the GPU to work.

How have you reset CMOS?

short the pins as well as taking out the battery. leave the short in place and the battery out for several minutes to be sure. you need to do this any time you change memory or cpu...including when you add in or take out memory.

Are you certain the GPU works? Also, same for the new CPU. If you put the old one back, does it work?

Are you using any adapters with you video connections or just the cables?

The old gpus don't work, and the new one's lights and fans turn on, so I'm 90% sure it works

do you think I should reinstall my old cpu, download the drivers for the gpu and then reinstall my new cpu

Try swapping the old CPU in. We need to verify that something works.

I was starting to suspect that. You can gently bend back into position (I use a large sewing needle) and try the 2700X again. Be very gentle with the pins.

As said, be Extremely careful realigning the pins, you break one and your CPU is gone.

Take it to a professional if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

Double check that your power cable is firmly attached to your power supply and that the power supply is switched on (back side toggle switch).
