My computer won't open a specific folder on my external hard drive

The WD external hard drive had always been plugged to my main computer. Now, I cannot see the content of a specific folder; all other folders and files are fine. I tried connecting it to my secondary computer and that folder was working fine (I was able to see all its contents). Then I reconnected it back to my main computer, same problem, I can see the folder but cannot see the content, it just becomes not responding and I had to force quite Windows Explorer.

It's just this drive that is currently experiencing the issue, all other external hard drives are working fine.

Can someone help me out? Thanks in advance.

Hey there, JerryJF.

Sorry to hear about the issues you're having with that drive. I'd recommend that you backup anything important you might have on it, just to be on the safe side. After that go ahead and download DLG (Data Lifeguard Diagnostics) and run both tests (Quick and Extended), to see what's the situation with the drive. Here's how to do that: How to test a drive for problems using Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows. A faulty cable could also cause such issues, or a faulty USB port, especially having in mind it worked fine with your other computer.

Please keep me posted on the results.
