my computer's monitor shows no signal after i put a new gpu

my computers monitor shows no signal when i put a zotac nvidia geforce gt610 synergy edition gpu but works without it my motherboard is gigabyte g31m-es2l and processor intel pentium dual core e5400 and 4gb ram ddr2
the graphic card got vhot when it was running with its fan even though monitor was showing no signal

Sometimes certain GPUs don't like certain monitor cables, my kid had a similar situation to you. We just had to change cables because his GTX 750 hated it.

Does your mobo have onboard video? If so, check the BIOS and make sure it's not on after your install. As some one else suggested, I'd consider trying some other cables just in case.

it works without the gpu and i tried it in an other monitor with a different cable it still showed no signal
and i put a 512mb graphics card instead and tried it still shows no signal

can it be a problem with the port or pcie version or because my ram is ddr2 and card is ddr3?

YES I RESET CMOS AND ITS WORKING PERFECTLY

Can't say I've ever seen a CMOS issue like that either, but good that it's working again for you.
