My processor is a dual core only and i know its very weak for gaming but i want to know if i should upgrade my cpu first or buy the gtx 1050 ti to see any improvements for gaming

Solution
1050ti will definitely be a noticeable improvement. Get that and you can transfer it to a newer rig in the future. FM2 is getting a little long in the tooth so maybe save and consider newer tech when you get ready to upgrade your cpu.
My motherboard only supports FM2+ Amd cpu but im planning to get an A10 7850K Processor but i want to know if i should upgrade the processor now or buy the gtx 1050 ti for my current processor for decent gaming performance i cant buy both cause im on a strict budget

If you buy a dedicated GPU then I would recommend that you don't get another APU and instead opt for an Athlon X4 880k. This will give you that max performance you can get out of the FM2+ platform. It's a better CPU than the A10 and it is cheaper since it doesn't have a built in GPU. This is what I did in my rig. Went from an A4 6300 to an 880k with a 4gb RX 480.

Agreed, if you have a dedicated GPU you won't need an APU. The Athlon X4 860, 870, or 880K is the same as the A10 but without the integrated graphics so it's cheaper.

Is the 860k ok? Cause im planning to buy it, the 880k is compatible with my motherboard but i need to update my Bios to support it cause i think 880k is Godavari and the 860k is Kaveri. Im afraid to update my bios because its risky and i saw the latest update for my bios and it is still a Beta bios

You shouldn't be afraid of updating your BIOS, but if you want to get an 860k it will just be clocked at 3.7ghz instead of 4.0ghz. The cooler on the 880k is also better. If you want to over clock the 860k to get similar performance to the 880k you will need a better cooler which would negate any cost savings the 860k has over the 880k. But bottom line, either CPU would be a good choice.

Hi. I know its been a while but your post reflects mine. I also currently have A4-6300 and Im planning to buy either GT 1030 or GTX 1050TI. Whats your experience using 1050ti? Was it playable? Is there stuttering while playing games?
