Question D drive not working, can it harm the computer

my solid state drive is working fine but my d drive is not acknowledging anything i dont know why. my computer tech unplugged the wires of the d drive. i plugged them in today to see if it would work and it does not. should i unplug them again? can it do my computer any harm with the d drive connected? that is what im worried about

When you say D drive, are you referring to it as a secondary physical drive or a secondary partition off of your SSD? If you're working with Windows OS, open up Disk Management and pass on a screenshot of what you see.
