Hello,
Today I got my brand new Dell 2007FP display. I'm pretty happy with it but still I wander about the type of matrix the Dell lottary has bestowed on me. I know that Dell put AS-IPS or P-MVA on a random principle. So is there any way short of dissasembling the monitor to discover the type of matrix used in mine? For example Samsungs 226BW has a service menu activated by pressing it's buttons in a special sequence. Is there something similar on the Dell 2007FP?

Not anymore. Some info is display, but no one has been able to decypher it yet to determine the panel used.

Hmm...according to folklore it still sees I won the lottery.
1) The serial number ends on an L for LG's S-IPS panel.
2) When I opened the service menu the panel was named V1B22, which is an IPS pannel again acording to internet folklore
3) When I look at my monitor at a great angle the blacks become purple-ish
