My dell screen is all the way off can i run it to my desk top

I have a dell Inspiron 1100. The laptop was dropped and the whole screen and all is no more its off. now everything else works. Can i run my lap top to my desk top, and that is a emachinesT3516. Or even plpug it in to my monitor.

You can connect an external monitor to your laptop and use it for your display as long as you have the correct cable.
