My Ethernet connection drops for a few seconds every few minutes.

It's happening in random time spaces, just a few seconds. It's been like that since I rebuilt my computer to: ASRock AB350M, Ryzen 3 1200, GTX 1050Ti. And it keeps happening, I reinstalled the driver, restarted the router, turned off energy saving settings, reconnected the cord and tried a different one. It's really annoying because I can't play RSS at all and it is slightly impacting other games too. Does anyone have a solution to my problem?

Only your computer - correct?

Is your computer wired directly to the router or are you using any interim Ethernet wall jacks or Powerline adapters?

What Ethernet port are you using on the computer: built-in motherboard, PCIe network adapter, or USB Ethernet adapter?

Are only games being impacted or all internet activity in general?

Unplug your computer and check that all cable connections, card seatings, memory modules, jumpers are firmly in place.. You may have simply bumped something else loose during the rebuild. A connection or seating may look okay but it is not.

Yes, directly to the router via the motherboard port, the entire internet activity is impacted. The icon on the bottom right shows an X during the disconnection, as if the cord was unplugged. I am pretty sure that all cables are plugged in correctly, I checked all cables about 5 times when building the computer, just to be sure.

Bad news (full disclosure) I am not sure what may be happening.

Good news: you have options to try.

First, run the built in Windows trouble shooters - they may identify and fix something.

Second, try another known working Ethernet cable. (Which you may have already done per your reference to "reconnected the cord....".)

Third, which becomes somewhat more involved, is to use Task Manager, Performance Monitor, Resource Monitor, and Event Viewer to watch your system and see if any of the four tools present or capture something at the time of the drops.

Event Viewer is the most likely to have captured something. Just a warning or informational event in lieu of an error.

Some situation where internet connectivity is lost but not to the point of being unrecoverable.

Open one of the tools, leave the window open but set to one side. Work as normal and watch what you system is doing.

Could simply be some faulty app trying to "phone home", failing, and causing your PC to lose connectivity in the interim....

Key is being methodical and having some patience.

So your issue could be hardware or software and could be pretty much anything but the cable.

Can you test another computer using that same port on the router?

If that works then it has to be your computer.

At that point I would put a live linux distro on CD and boot from that and see if networking works just fine.
If it does then the issue in windows or at least the windows driver.

If it still had connection drops in linux then it is bad hardware.
You can either RMA the motherboard or just buy an addon ethernet card. Tp-link has a decent inexpensive one on newegg for around $12-15.
