My first build for $600?

Hello,
I'm getting my draft on my first home build system, so I wanted some feedback before jumping on this one. Here are the components:

CPU Intel Core i5 2500K LGA 1155
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 LGA 1155
PSU Corsair Enthusiast TX750 750 W 80 PLUS
GPU Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1 GB
Case Cooler Master HAF 912 Mid-Tower
RAM G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB DDR3-1066 Kit (2 x 4 GB)
HDD Seagate Barracuda 1 TB 7200 RPM 3.5" Hard Drive
DVD Burner Lite-On iHAS124 24x DVDRW Drive

The purpose for this system is mainly for home office, home theater, networking and random gaming... Thanks!

I would go with at least 1333 mhz or if possible, 1600 mhz. Also please post your prices for these pieces and what games you will be playing. It makes giving advice much easier. In general, though, that it looks pretty good.

I'm reluctant about G.Skill.. Mainly because I've never heard of them until recently. Its probably good RAM (I've never heard of a company that had a bad reputation for making RAM), is it any good? I do agree however about going with a higher speed. 1066 is yesterday, and today's RAM 1333 and 1600 doesn't cost substantially more.

I have that same PSU you're fixing to order, I can vouch for it, its very good quality design, very good textured finish on the unit, and good sturdy wires and connectors.

As a monitor I want to use my Samsung TV UN40D6000SFXZA and later on adding another "small" monitor for my desk.

I follow you comment and did more research about the RAM. You were right! I found 1333 and 1600 for $24.99 & 39.99 respectively @ Microcenter.

One suggestion is that at Micro Center you can get the P8Z68-V LX 1155 ATX for $69 if you buy it with an I5-2500k. Other than that possible change You are ready to build. This build should work very well.

you could run two 6870's with a 650 watt psu so that one is overkill

Go to NewEgg>Desktop Memory and sort by Best Rating and/or Most Reviews and see what pops up.

As outlander pointed out, the psu is much more than you need, so going to a less powerful one will save you some bucks. 500 or even 450 should be adequate.

As far as g.skill goes, I have their sniper series in my rig and never had any problems with it.
