Is there any computer parts that aren't compatible with each other or am I missing anything or even improve on? I made this build just yesterday and this is my first time, so please give me some slack :D. I don't want the best of the best, just a pretty good PC rig that can last me a long time. Thanks for your time.

If anything I'd like to keep it at a 1000-1500 price range if possible. I have not purchased the parts yet :) I just want a PC that can last pretty long without upgrading for awhile. Thanks! :)

Okay got it, I'll make a parts list in a moment but I have one more question, what is the intended use for this system? Is it mainly for gaming or will you use this system to video edit as well?

To be honest the key objective in mind was to build a pretty decent PC rig that I wouldn't be needing to upgrade for a while, and I thought that a Gaming PC rig is powerful enough for me to last for awhile.

In short, making the PC last long so I don't have to upgrade :)

Alright got it! :) I'll make a list right away.

There's a few parts you could swap out of this build if you would like to reduce the cost even further. Like the SSD for example, I threw that in there due to the budget, but you could get rid of that if you so desired.

I went with the i5 3570k over the i7 to be able to throw in a beefier GPU. However, if you need more CPU power than GPU, you could switch back to your original configuration of an i7+GTX570.

Thanks for the help! I'm aiming for a more entertainment based PC rig, so I don't really need a powerful GPU.

I have a question about the your build, though. I am wondering why you gave me a 1TB Samsung Spinpoit HDD $89.99 AND a 128GB Crucial M4 SSD? Simply for more space? Sorry for the dumb question.

And final question. Was there anything wrong with my initial build? Compatibility wise? Thanks!

Ahhh okay I got it :)

If your PC is based more around entertainment, you could take off the GTX670 I listed and throw in a GTX570 (cheaper and still performs extremely well). I would still recommend you to stick with an i5, though :)

I threw in an SSD AND a Hard drive in the list so you could use the SSD for a boot drive, and the Hard Drive as storage. SSD's are extremely fast nowadays and I'm sure you'll be satisified with the performance for the years to come.

There's nothing wrong with your initial build, however. I just think you're investing in the wrong areas :) Like your power supply, I would get a 650w instead of a 750w as I feel it's overkill.

Ahh yes, the PSU. I was really confused in that area when building the rig. I couldn't decide which PSU to get, since I couldn't really tell the difference between the PSU and what is most effective for the rig. Thanks!.

You're very welcome! :)

Well if you are getting an entertainment PC guess your mainly usage will be watching movies and Gaming at FullHD or HD.
This build does include:
*Intel Core i7 CPU wich it's pretty great for multitasking and future proving, and it's overclocking capable, so you can get more performance out of it. You can upgrade to Sandy-Bridge in the future then.
*1080p gaming capable graphics card.
*120GB SSD to work as system and boot drive, the HDD included it's big enough for saving other programs and stuff.
*Future Possibility for dual-graphics cards.
-CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4Ghz (3.8Ghz Turbo) Unlocked Multiplier $289,99
-CPU Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO $34,99
-Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LK $147,55
-RAM memory: 8Gb (2x4Gb) G.skill Ares CAS9 @1600Mhz $44,99
-Graphics card: AMD (MSi) Radeon HD 7870 Twin Frozr III $279,99
-Blu-Ray Burner: Lite-ON IHBS112-04 $64,99
-SSD: Corsair Force 3 SATA III 120Gb $124,99
-HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3TB @7200RPM $149,99
-PSU: Thermaltake SMART 750Watt Modular Power Supply $99,99
-Case: Corsair Carbide 400R $99,99
-O.S: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit $99,99

Total: $1437,45

The i7 you linked is already Sandy-Bridge. 'Upgrading' to Sandy Bridge in the future isn't possible since it's last years technology. We're at Ivy Bridge today, and soon Haswell to be released next year.
