Maybe consider something like this? Would be a decent build.

Solution
At the budget of an FX-8320 + Asus 970 Pro Gaming, you can afford a better setup for the same price and see improved performance. It has to be given to Intel here.

Your AMD plan:

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor ($129.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus 970 PRO GAMING/AURA ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($117.99 @ Amazon)

Intel i5-4460 + H97 Pro 4 for slightly more, but consistently much better performance.

LOL @ the trolling Intel Fun Bunch :sarcastic:

Look good. A few things for you to consider...

The EVGA 750w Modular 80+ Gold w/ 10 yr Warranty is $65 after rebate (ends 3/3) ---- CX power supplies are 'okay' but tend to get wobbly when system temps go above 40C.

For gaming (and OC'ing!) I prefer the FX-6350. The higher stock base clock tends to perform a bit better than the FX-8320 in gaming, and it saves you $10 (combo deals with the Aura)

2x4GB of RAMs should be fine.

The MSI Radeon R9 380 DirectX 12 R9 380 GAMING 4G 4GB is $195 after rebate --- should be a good bit faster than your GTX 960, and really thumps it in DX12.

edit: The i5-4460 is not faster than the FX-6350 --- especially when you attach a $25 CM T4 to it and clock it beyond 4.5GHz.

''Trolling fun bunch''. Dude, seriously. Respect my effort and rather try and explaining why you dislike what I wrote. I'm one of the most neutral posters you'll find on this forum. I don't prefer any side, depending on the situation. However, with all honestly, the FX-8320 is never going to have a chance to the i5-4460 and if you disagree with that, then perhaps you need to dig back in and explain why, in any way, the FX-8320 is better for him than the i5-4460.

AMD processor are good, for ENTHUSIASTS. Not for the neutral gamer. Do you disagree with me?

And to put a bomb between the bumholes, on average the i5-4460 achieves higher performance/higher framerates than an FX-6350 @ 4.5 Ghz. If you disagree with me, again, prove me I'm wrong. Because I know I'm not. Sorry, but I think this is idiotic from you. FX-6/8/9xx are good CPU's, but far from that being it to everyone. Only to a selection, who know what they're getting with those 6/8 cores. Absolutely laughable, honestly.

I completely agree and second this post. 4460 would be a perfect CPU for your average gamer and should last you quite a bit.

Thank you all for the helpful information, I still have a lot to think about. I was also wondering if the i5 and the FX 8320 come with thermal paste or do I need to buy some? Also would a SSD really be a must I know that they are better then HDD in almost every way, other then price, but I am on a budget. Would it be better to just to drop it and pick one up that I can install later? That would drop almost $90 off my cost. With the newest build I am pushing $900 I would like to keep it as close to $800 as possible.

So yes, I think that thermal paste would come with the CPU cooler, not the CPU, however I recommend buying some anyways. It will last you for quite a long time. Always good to have.

About that SSD, yes, that would be perfectly fine to not get one now and install one later. Nothing wrong with that.

I'd recommend getting a cryorig h7, smaller, better cooling performance, an only 10$ more. Still a great thought, nonetheless.

After some looking into things and removing the SSD this is the new build that I am going with:

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GXM

ASRock H97 Pro4 LGA 1150 Intel H97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Intel Core i5-4460 Haswell Quad-Core 3.2 GHz LGA 1150 BX80646I54460 Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600

MSI Radeon R9 380 DirectX 12 R9 380 GAMING 4G 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support ATX Video Card

Microsoft Windows 10 Home - 64-bit - OEM

DIYPC D480-W White Dual USB 3.0 ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case with Build-in 5 x Fans (2 x 120mm Blue LED Fan x Front, ...

EVGA 120-G1-0650-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 650 W Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI Ready and Crossfire Support Continuous Power Supply

thanks for the heads up little more expensive but I think I will change it out with:

EVGA SuperNOVA GS 220-GS-0650-V1 80 PLUS GOLD 650 W ECO Mode Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI Ready and Crossfire Support Super Silent Continuous Power Supply

Also I have seen some reviews about the ASRock being DOA is that just due to shipping or the place they ordered from (all the DOA reports I have seen have come from newegg, haven't really checked other sites)
