Splendid
Either you missed my point all together or I didnt do a good job of getting it across"Probably the latter". Rebates have nothing to do with good money management, other than the savings part. The savings is somewhat important to me. Im not getting into the argument about why a company gives a rebate. I don't care why they give it, all I am concerned about is getting my rebate. Now as to people not sending in their rebates on time "Who's fault is that?". I'm not so sure that there is really anything wrong with giving a rebate based on the fact that most people won't send them in. Sounds like good marketing strategy to me. As long as they issue checks to people that send in the forms, then they are doing nothing wrong. I dont have any sympathy for someone that doesnt manage their personal business any better than that. One thing that I wont argue about, is that there are rebates that are down right bogus, but I very seldom run into this, so the Law Of Large Numbers is very much in my favor here. One more thing about the money management issue. After losing my butt "Do you know how screwed up it is to lose your butt? It really hurts when you sit down!" 10 years ago due to excessive spending, I learned the hard way what good money management is. Ten years ago, my credit was so bad that I couldnt have borrowed a cup of sugar. Today, I have no bills other than the very basic ones (Power, Water ect). My vehicle, and my home are paid for and on top of that my credit is good again. Im not try to toot my on whistle here, I know how it feels to be on both sides of this fence. So there you have it, and like the great Forrest Gump once said "That's ALL I have to say about that!"
