Case: Thermaltake Level 10 GT
Mobo: Asus Z97-A
Headphones: Sennheiser HD 598 (not sure if this matters)

The rear audio jack works fine through the mobo. The HD audio setting is enabled within the BIOS. The HD cable header is connected to the appropriate slot on the mobo. I do receive sound out of the front panel audio jack, but I am receiving a static/buzzing in addition to the sound. For now I have switched to the rear audio panel of the mobo. The case is brand new, just installed everything last night. Is this a known issue? Can it be fixed or is it poor cable management by Thermaltake? (Front panel cables came pre-routed). Also, If a soundcard could solve this issue I would like to know.

Budget for Soundcard: Under $40 would be great. ( I am not an audiophile)
I would like a headphone amp on the Soundcard though.

Thanks,
JW

Will this actually solve the issue of my Front Panel Audio interference though? Also, I am not too familiar with StarTech; how reputable are they in comparison to Asus or Creative?

Its a great price/quality brand I own this item since 3 years now, and I never had a problem. also for the front audio jack are you sure the audio plug is plugged into your motherboard ?

Alright, I may consider that card, but do you know if it has a headphone amp? I primarily use headphones when listening to music, movies, or when gaming.

I am positive that the audio is properly connected to the mobo.

Xear 3D Software adds Virtual 7.1 audio and has an AMP. Btw your front audio jack may be screwed up, it wouldn't be the first time I hear that on this case...
