My games keep crashing my computer after a varied amount of time can somebody please help?

Hey guys, this is a problem which has only just started occurring today. As stated in the title I've been having trouble with my games. So far I've only tested this with Far Cry 3 (which lasted around 5-10 minutes) and Just Cause 3 (about 30 seconds). I've updated my BIOS, checked that my CPU and GPU drivers are up to date and I'm still having problems. Can somebody help? Here are my specs if they are of any use to anyone.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 (rev 1.1)
GPU: R9 380 Asus DirectCU II OC Strix Gaming 4GB Edition
CPU: Intel core i5 4460 3.2ghz
RAM: 8gb DDR3 1600mhz
PSU: OCZ 500w 80+ bronze

your specs are more than enough for farcry 3 , only if you had like 16 gb of ram instead of 8 then everyone would blame it on the crappy ubi french canadian company

I know my scpecs allow me to play both games as my rigs around 4 months old now and has handled both games on ultra perfectly up until this point so there's no way that's the problem.
