My gpu caught fire?

Hey I was playing csgo and then my screen went out. I saw some sparks and smoke coming from my PC, then it turned off. It smelled really bad, like burned plastic. At first I thought my psu was broken see this thread (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3203323/exploded.html)

But this afternoon I put a new psu in my PC and my PC would not start... After that I tried again and it started only after failing a few seconds later. Then we tested without the gpu. And it started... After me and my friend put an old gtx 650 in my PC and noticed on the 980Ti that there was a big burn mark. After inspecting the motherboard I saw more burn marks unfortunately... What should I do? Can I make evga pay for a new gpu? Because I did not overclock my gpu.
How the hell could my gpu just explode it's not a note 7??

Gpu: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti
Ram: 16 GB 2400 Mhz
Mobo: Asus Z170 pro gaming

First ask your GPU and motherboard manufacturer and see if they can do anything for you. If not, then you are kind of out of luck because components with burn marks are hard to fix.

Will EVGA give you a new GPU? Completely up to them.
It might have been a faulty GPU, it might have been a crappy PSU that killed it.

Your only recourse is to start the RMA process and see what they say.

The AeroCool Strike-X 1100W, that you used and mentioned in your other post, is made by Andyson. Andyson models from the 2011 era were not good unless you like exploding PSUs.

thats an expensive gpu to burn out, thats why i stick with my titan sli (cost me 400$ about same price as yours) so i know if one burns out i know ill have the other to fall back on to. i think your only hope is a warranty.
