My GPU is at 60 degrees while idling PLEASE REPLY ASAP!!

My graphics card normally stays at 60 degrees while in game and normally 35-40 degrees when idle and for some odd reason it's making out i'm still in game. I've checked for updates on my motherboard and it's up to date. Someone help please. :/

I have an MSI 1060 6G X graphics card.
It's showing it is running at 60 degrees at 3% load LOL

Check the fans on your card and see if they are all spinning. Check the card's drivers, and also make sure there is good airflow throughout your PC. Do you remember doing anything to your PC/game before the issue arose?

I've checked the airflow and the fans only spin when i'm in game and it reaches a temp of 60 degrees Celsius. I don't remember messing with anything to do with the GPU clock speed.

Does this only occur for 5~10 minutes after you close a game?
If so; my 1070 does the same thing, except more like 50C. Once I close a game, the load drops to 0 and the fans turn off, even though the temperature is still pretty high. It gradually falls from 55C to 50C over like a 1~2 minute period and then takes another several minutes to drop to the 40's. If I go to MSI AB and turn the fans on manually - it will drop to the 30's almost immediately.
60C does seem a little warm for idle but honestly I wouldn't be too worried about it, I think that's just how the fan controllers were programmed on the 10-series. They run hot at idle after you close a game because the fans aren't spinning to cool it down.

But if it bothers you, you can setup a custom fan profile in MSI AB so that the fans will still be on at 60C to cool it off.

Well I don't consider 50C to be "high" temperature, or 60C for that matter, the GPU is designed to operate at those temperatures.
I have a 2010 MacBook Pro that I have been gaming on at 95-100C for 6 years and it still works just as well as the day I bought it. Personally I'm not too worried about the "high" idle temp on the 10-series. But hey, some people are and that's why we have custom fan profiles! Gotta love MSI AB..

Which is why i put "high" in quotation marks, it doesn't really matter but it will be better for the system running at lower temps.

I don't use afterburner i use the msi gaming app and the only thing i can do is use the cooler boost which goes up to 2500rpm and then back down. I can't change the fans manually.

Yes you can lower the clock speed but you shouldn't need to. Check all the info in MSI AB monitoring when you're at 3% load and 58-60C; What is fan speed? Clock speed? Voltage?

Ah haha, always good to make sure there aren't any heavy programs running in the background when you start seeing weird system readouts.
