Question My gpu is performing way below expectations

CPU: Intel Core i7-4700MQ - 50.2%
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 755M - 1.6%
HDD: Seagate ST1000LM014-SSHD-8GB 1TB - 51.6%
RAM: Ramaxel RMT3170EB68F9W1600 2x4GB - 52%
MBD: Lenovo 20217

For context, anything 3D is playing like laptop is not plugged in (from old games like Borderlands 2 to relatively new ones) , I tried formatting the laptop which didn't help, my drivers are updated as well so I think my gpu is dying but I would like your opinions as well. Thanks in advance

it is a relatively old setup, I would expect it to have issues with modern 3d applications or games. might be time for something new.

I agree. I think your expectations are too high

In nvidia control panel, you can force Optimus off for specific programs so you ensure the dGPU is being used and not the IGP on the CPU.

check if ur pc is using the intel hd4600 or the gt755.
