i rechecked your post thats not a full kit of 4 thats 2 kits of 2x8 and that can be a issue as not every kit is the exact same memory

there made to work as kits from the same batch mixing batches even of same memory isnt advised.

it might work a while but sometimes it can cause issues.

remove 1 of the kits and run only in 2 and 4 see if same issue occurs.

I know, I purchased on amazon a 4x8, but the package came in 2 2x8 regardless.

says on the board that dimm a2 and dimm b2 stay in the motherboard

remove the first stick closest to the cpu cooler.

and the 3rd stick

you should be left with 2 and 4 in the correct slots

Okay havent had time work weekends sorry
just took out 1st and 3rd slot
going to try boot

No issues so far, hasnt froze, booted properly.
So what is my next step? to be able to use all ram sticks- 32gb?
trail and error seems sketchy

return and buy new set, or go for a full new set?

Is there any advantage/disadvantage to me using all 4 dimm slots?
or is 16x2 better?
