i took the old 1tb harddrive from my grandfathers old desktop to ekstrakt the pictures, but i plugged it in my own pc without it coming up. i watched a video (will link it for reference) and i did exactly what he did, but no luck. The only differnece is that my grandfather had a desktop and not a laptop. Also, it is a WD green 1TB, i know green disks are used for suervailance cameras, so that might be it?

Solution
The drive should have both a data cable (connects to motherboard) and power cable (connects to PSU). Do you have both connected?
What kind of enclosure/adapter did you use to connect the HDD your PC? Or, did you install directly to your motherboard's SATA ports and your PSU?

The green version is not the issue. Don't worry about that.

Does the HDD appear in Disk Management?

it is just sata, werid stuff. It is in the same circut as my ssds, and they show up fine. It does not show up in disk managment, but agian, the others do.

Exactly what did you use to connect this drive?

As far as my cable knowledge goes, it is a sata connector (picture for reference (https://www.lifewire.com/thmb/ogAJmmKD_RHYYJL7CXIYe9nQo8M=/768x0/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/sata-power-cable-57c768d23df78c71b6565ca0.jpg) and another sata connector (?) (https://pactech-inc.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/SATA2K-XXL-Amphenol-SATA-Cable-Straight-with-Latch-to-Left-Angle-003.jpg)
i think i know what the problem is. Did i use sata connectors twice? ergo i have no power cable connected?

Can't see you first pic, of presumably the power connection.
This is a SATA power coming off your PSU?

It was slightly not in the mother board, ofc its some stupid mistake like that

It has happened to us all. Glad you sorted it out.
