My graphics card has 2 8 pin power connectors. Do I need to connect both?

This isnt a card i bought yet but im planning on making a PC. The Power supply only has one 8 pin wire but my graphics card has 2 ports. Is this fine?

It needed both slotted with 8 pin power otherwise it will not work

You need a better Power Supply Unit (PSU).

Check the Power requirements of the video card.
Any card that needs 2 - 8 pin connectors is going to need a big PSU.

Yes you need to connect the power the card requires. So you can handle this a couple of ways. One, keep that power supply and limit your choice of videocard to what works with that one connector. Two, get another power supply with the two connectors.

edit: If you already bought the card then you will need to replace your power supply
