my hdd formatted itself

hi just as the title says my data just got erased from my hdd. i was watching a video from my hdd and as i opened my hdd to watch a different video i found all the content of my hdd gone all 1TB of data gone. i havent formatted it, no one touched my pc, no weird sounds from hdd. i dont know what the problem is. i have used the hdd for about 2 years now

Sounds like you may have been attacked by a virus or other malware. What kind of anit-virus pgm are you running? Keep the signatures updated?

Can't say it's anything other than malware. Were you not using an anti-virus? These kinds of malware are usually easily spotted.

The NSA has control over your HDD and are studying your case.
