My HDD shows up in the list of SATA drives in BIOS, but not in the BIOS boot order

So I've built a new computer, and for a few days, until I got another SATA cable, I was running just from the SSD. Now however, I've connected the HDD, and it shows up when I go into BIOS and look at the list of devices connected to SATA ports. However, when I go to look at the boot order, the drive isn't there, it's my disk drive followed by the SSD. How can I change this/what's causing it?
For reference:
Intel i5-4430
ASUS H81M-D Plus Motherboard
Kingston 120GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD

hi, Does this drive show up in your OS? On my ASUS motherboard there can only be one "Active" hard drive in the boot order and you have to make the hard drive #1 in SATA configuration under the advanced setting in the uefi. It's a disadvantage because you can only have one hard drive under your boot list, hopefully they will catch on and fix this.

Your boot order should be SSD then HDD?

It should be, but I can't get it to appear in the boot options at all. It shows up in bios, but not in the boot priority menu, just the Sata Information tab. And it's not visible in the OS, just the SSD and disk drive.

I take that back. I can find the drive under Device Manager and all seems to be working properly, but when I open the "THis PC" view, it only shows the SSD and my disk drive

Have you tried switching the sata port it's located on the motherboard?

Format it in disk management, then it'll appear in this pc

control panel / admin tools / computer management / disk management. If its here right mouse on it then format

It'll probably say unallocated

this still doesn't answer why it doesn't show up in your boot menu which is odd.. try to find it in your boot menu after you format it

My options when I right click on it are Convert to Dynamic Disc, Convert to GPT Disk, Properties and Help. Which one of these is it? Sorry for all the questions

What hdd is it? I know one of the seagate hdds have probs. Has MD03 in it or something

Some people couldnt even install windows on it, and it didnt appear in the BIOS either.

I think its a dud hdd
