My head-sets don't work the same

I doubt this is the problem, but it all started around that time. so i plugged in my second monitor and my headsets started acting up since then.... now i cant see movies or watch any sort of video because it practically inaudible... But i can still hear discord calls and some sounds like that, did i mess with any setting? also i kind of plugged in the second monitor while the pc was on rookie move lol..

Plz help me Determine what wrong with it cuz i dont wanna go out and buy new one for no reason if there is a way tell me how to fix it thx

specs--

- GTX 1060 Gaming X 6gb

- Core I5 8400 CPU

- 8 Gb of DDR4

- Mobo GIGABYTE B360M DS3H Micro ATX

- EVGA 500 W 80 Plus bronze PSU

Have a look in your audio settings to check it hasn't defaulted to the monitor audio.

There are no issues with connecting a monitor to a running computer, I do it all the time.

What did you check already? Audio levels in the programs and in Windows? Bit hard for anyone to figure out what the issue is without seeing your settings.

Is this a USB headset or using the 3.5mm jacks? Did you try other jacks/ports? Maybe the audio mode is set for something aside from a headset.
