Hi there!
I have a i7 3770k with a Corsair H80i cooler and I've had this problem about a month now and my idle temperatures (and in games) are really high atm they're at 53 - 55c on idle and the room temperature is 20 - 21c ish.
And in games (i tried Counter-Strike: global offensive just now) and in that the temperature reaches 80c and the CPU usage goes up to 50% which it usually is in a game like Battlefield 4 which is more understandable. This is really worrying me, since it has never been like this and CSGO isn't that heavy of a game, now this has just gotten more and more worse since it all started. By the way yesterday i even tried taking out the radiator and cleaned it with some compressed air and there was alot of dust in there and i also cleaned the heatsink and cpu with isopropyl alcohol and reapplied with fresh arctic silver thermal paste (put a peanut amount in the middle) The temps are EXACTLY the same. No changes at all! now my computer is way quieter than before since the dust is now gone but the temps are still way to high so i can't play any games or nothing. Even when i just browse through google chrome or anything the temperatures goes up to 65 - 70c+ just by that and same here the CPU usage goes up insanely high (about 15 - 30% ish). Now do any of you guys know what's the problem here? Sorry for the really long topic but hopefully some of guys have the time and will to read / have a fix for this i'll gladly appreciate it!
Thanks in advance! :)

Here's some pictures btw of my CPU temps when doing nothing at all:

The second picture is when i open google chrome tabs they rise about 5 - 10c for a few secs then go down.

EDIT: Also sometimes, but just sometimes when i start my computer the temps are at 30 - 35c with 20c room temp. (Which still isn't normal to me since i've always had 25 - 30c even with my CPU on overclock (4.3GHz).
Here's a picture of me checking the performance of the CPU on windows! is this normal?

Yeah i didn't put that much on but it was a peanut of a size but not the height.
The strange thing is that nothing at all happened to the temps. Didn't even get higher or lower.

I'd double check that the heatsink is fully seated, sometimes one peg doesn't anchor in right and you have the smallest of gaps that doesn't let the heat sink work fully.

Also check the CPU fan speed to make sure it's spinning fast enough. If it got clogged with dust it could just not be able to spin fast enough anymore.

Have you done anything like a windows + R then msconfig to look at your startup programs? You probably have something running in the background that you don't even know about. Like one time I left my nvidia geforce experience app running and it put my processor to about 40% use for pretty much nothing. and I have a 4930k

Here's a picture of the msconfig thing, also know that i recently formatted and reinstalled windows on my computer.

As shown in the picture, my CPU Fan is at 2400RPM!

I just checked and the 2 NVIDIA programs was actually both NVIDIA Experience, so i disabled one of them and 1 of the spotify ones but i still don't think this is the problem, It has to be something in the CPU, cooler or something i have no idea.

Hello,

Please try to reduce the overclock to see if the problem continues. If even at stock speeds/voltages you still experience the same problems, try the boxed CPU cooler. It seems that entire Corsair line is plagued with quality degradation on their liquid coolers...

Hi there, i already have set it to stock speed! and it's still the same this was the first thing i did when this problem occured. And unfortunately i don't have the stock Intel cooler still.

How do i disable that? and how do i set the voltage too? (i'm a noob 😀)
And also do you mean the Vcore voltage?

alright but i got question, what is the purpose of this? since my cpu is on stock i don't need that much voltage?

My CPU's Vcore voltage has always been at 0.86 on stock though? :S
It's on 0.86 right now. And i tried changing the voltages but i couldn't see a option to do so in the BIOS.

Well i'm not sure, since there was a company here in Sweden who built this computer for me (i picked the parts) but i have 1 fan on top 2 cooler fans inside on the back and one on the backside blowing air out and also one in the front.
But let me mention that this computer have worked perfectly fine since i got it which was about over a year ago but started acting up now :/

You said that you cleaned off the radiator right? took it and the fans off and go every bit of it cleaned? Another thing is your cooler could be bad, if you hear something like a click click click click noise that means that you have air in the loop which normally in the closed coolers is a huge problem.

Nope no click click sound just listened closely, and yeah i did clean the radiator and fans properly with compressed air and the dust just went flying, there was alot. But that only made my comp abit quieter. I also vacumed the most of the dust afterwards. Got another thing, my temperatures rise alot too when watching youtube / twitch (especially twitch) which before i could have multiple twitch streams / replays up with almost no usage and rising temperature.
