My i7 4790k is underclocked HELP

Hello everyone i need help i have

Intel Core i7 4790K S 1150 Haswell Refresh Quad Core Processor

and its only clocking at 3.60 ghz i did not mess with the settings in bios or anything just came like this 😱 how can i fix it

other specs

evga gtx 1080 sc
8gb ddr3 1600 <-- upgrading to 32gb in week
600 watt powersupply
Old acer predator motherboard

Are you sure it's the "K" model? The non-K model is 3.6ghz. Also are you running a benchmark? They downclock themselves unless under load.

yeah i have the Intel Core i7 4790K S 1150 Haswell Refresh Quad Core Processor and i ran some benchmarks i even tried to superclock it with intel extreme tuning and the settings where just gray idk what to do from here

What is telling you it's 3.6? Are you using CPU-Z or HWMonitor?

That pic clearly shows it at 4Ghz. It could be downclocking if it's getting too hot.

i checked control panel said it there and said it on CPU-Z

see and that pic is max turbo boost cpu speed 4 ghz and i cannot enable that for some reason so its stuck at 3.6

The control panel and CPU-Z are only reading the specification of the chip to you. It boosts to 4.0; it won't run at 4.0 constantly. Check the core speed - bottom left of CPU-Z in the CPU tab

if wondering my speed on cpu-z stayed same if that was suppose to change it lol

The only 3 reasons for it to not increase to it's max boost frequency will be

1 - It doesn't need to because there's no load on it
2 - There's load but it's getting too hot and downclocks itself
3 - BIOS/Motherboard setting

checked bios it looks okay by look at it i just tested pubg ik dumb but just check if any change and none 😱

There's a setting in the control panel you can check. Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings> change advanced power settings> Processor power management. Make sure max processor state is set to 100%
