Question My icons on the taskbar have been replaced by other things ?

I have suddenly lost all my placed icons on the task bar ,which has been taken over by elongated :thispc, libaries,network and a couple more .I can see about 3 of my icons at the right . Can someone tell me how to get rid of these so I get to see all my icons again please

You might want to pass on a screenshot of what you're seeing. Did this happen after an update? If so, try and perform a system restore prior to the update.
 
This has created another problem .Now when I click on a taskbar icon it goes elongated like they are in the screen shot and when I drop they app back to the taskbar it is staying elonggated ??
 
Hi I tried using the settings off my laptop. I had to change a couple of settings but it made no difference. If I close the icon it goes back to it's right size, but if I click on another Icon without closing the previous one it is also elongated ?
 
OK, now you have unticked the desktop toolbar
Do you still have the 2 little arrows or whatever they are at the right close to the calculator
If you still have that click on it and see where it points to.
 
Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been in hospital.

There are no little arrows on the right side of the taskbar.
When I click on a task bar item (one I have put there) it elonggates and if I open another t/b item it does the same thing. They will only go back to an icon if I close it from the t/b
