My internet isn't working even though the ethernet cable is plugged in.

So I plugged in my printer and then a couple seconds later, my internet stopped working. The green light is on when I plug in the ethernet cable. I have tried plugging it out and back in and I've tried a system restore but it hasn't worked. Please answer quickly, this is very urgent.

Reset your cable modem, then router, then computer.

Green light does not mean anything but its getting power. Does not mean internet is working at all.

Turn off every device on the network.....

Unplug the router / Modem and wait 60 seconds

Restart mode, / router and wait 2 minutes or so

Turn on puters, printers whatever.

I should clarify that the Internet is working for all other devices. I've tried your suggestions but it hasn't helped. Still no connection. I feel like this might be a hardware problem. Again, please answer quickly as I am in a hurry.

Wait .... all other devices were working ? Does that mean you didn't shut down every single device on the network and that none were connected when router / modem was rebooted ?


Turn everything off....wait cupla minutes
Turn Router Modem on....wait cupla minutes
Boot your machine (printer off)

Troubleshoot with no other devices on network.
Check device manager
Check Local Area Connection

Actually, I just ran the troubleshooter and it says "The Intel(R) 82562V-2 10/100 Network Connection adapter is experiencing driver- or hardware-related problems". What should I do?

Id start be uninstalling the driver and installing latest one from MoBo web site

If that don't work, call tech support.
