The little board is the controller board(USB -> SATA), it comes off.
You have to remove the board(pulls right off like a sata plug), then you can plug the drive into the computer it self.
Take care when holding the drive as the top is thinner and more fragile then a normal hard drive.
With the drive installed in the system(connect SATA + Power) boot up and windows should see it as long as the drive is not damaged(it may take a few min to detect it, may even ask you to restart, i never restart ).
