i upgraded to Windows 10 and my keyboard keeps disconnecting and then recconecting after 1-2 seconds
i noticed that this keyboard is doing that only in Windows 10 and Windows 8
when i plug it into a Windows 7 Machine its fine no problems
but when its Windows 8 or Windows 10 its disconnecting and reconnecting randomly
This is very annoying because i play alot of games
Also this is a wired USB Keyboard not a wireless one
Any help is appreciated thanks.

Solution
looks like a common problem with this keyboard
windows 10:
For Windows 10 users, the method for Windows 8 doesn’t work, because the box is unchecked and grey.

Instead, go to Device Manager -> Human Interface Devices and you can find your USB devices and the power management tab. There you will find the box “allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.”

Windows 8:
1) Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers;
2) Right click on your keyboard, click on Properties;
3) Go to the Hardware tab, select the USB Input Device under Device Functions, and click on Properties;
4) Click on...
Did you plug it into usb2 and usb3.0 ports and had the same problem?
Eventually usb3.0 port driver is not up to date or the chipset driver of the motherboard. Don't trust windows, install the drivers from the manufacturer's homepage yourself.

Are you really sure it's not a connector or cable problem?

its a Microsoft WiredKeyboard 200
and i can't find any drivers for it

No its not a cable problem im 100% sure
i have tried plugging it into diffrent ports
Manufacturer doesn't say anything about drivers
i have problems with it only in Windows 8 and Windows 10 in Windows 7 the keyboard works just fine
btw the model is Microsoft WiredKeyboard 200

Does the keyboard show up at all in the device manager when plugged in?

Yes it does

In device manager right click on the keyboard and select update driver software. If this does not work then left click the keyboard, go to the driver tab in the popup menu, and uninstall the driver.

it says the device driver is already up to date
then i tried unistalling the driver and now the keyboard does not work at all
im typing this from On-Screen Keyboard

which motherboard brand and model is it?
install the drivers for your motherboard´s chipset and eventually dedicated USB3.0 ports from the motherboard manufacturer´s homepage. A BIOS update could help too, but don´t do that in windows.

I have a Logitech Illuminated Wired Keyboard uses a little more power imagine. The keyboard is coming out of a 2.0 USB from a docking station situated below my laptop. I was loosing power the computer was also dropping down into Battery mode continuously. My Keyboard started disconnecting and reconnecting randomly going on for a few days. Tried everything finally I switched the Power Adapter transformer with a new one. That fixed it! I checked their voltages and the new one put out 19.5 V (suggested Power at 90 Watts) and the old one was down in a Milli-volts range. Got so bad I couldn't plug in any USB. The Power Adapter wore out it lasted eight (8) years. Everything's working good now and the wired Keyboard is functioning again properly the way it should. Right on Fixed. Hope maybe this might help someone out there with similar wired Keyboard problems.
