My laptop has stop working

Hello,My laptop gave me a virtualmemory error and now when you click on an icon nothing happens. The system boots up Ok but you can't do anything with any Icon and cannot get to the task manager to start.

Try Safe Mode? What's the exact error, and what happens when you try to open anything?
