Question My Laptop is not giving me good performance while gaming

I have a hp pavilion 15 gaming cx-140-tx with a gtx 1050 4gb gddr5 dedicated gpu.
In Csgo i am getting 70-80 fps on the lowest resolution(1024/768). I checked a performance test and in the test the guy witha a gtx 1050 as well was getting an avg of 150-200 fps on high 1080p. On gta v as well i used to run the game at 120 fps and now it stutters like hell. Plz help

hi, thanks for replying. I actually have the latest Nvidia drivers available. I also tried some fps boost tricks but nothing worked plz help

I have like 400GB of clean space I cleared a 100gb yesterday still no improvement

For laptop, make sure power plan is set "High performance". And make sure the game running with Nvidia graphic.

I did everything. I use it on high performance and my gpu is gtx 1050 globally as well

Make sure there is no background application running. You can check on task manager.
And use hardware monitoring, to check how the laptop is perform.

lol, I disabled all the background apps like 2 months ago. No improvement. Is it because of overheating??

CS GO is heavily cpu dependent. What cpu do you have? What is the cpu temperature in game? What is your RAM configuration, 1x8gb, 2x4gb, 2x8gb or something else?

Overheating may decrease the performance, but after a long times playing, not in all time. Try to check the Manage 3D Settings on Nvidia Control Panel.

Overheating and throttling can occur nearly immediately if there is a cooling problem. It definitely needs checking.

I use throttle stop. It affects a bit. Like my temp decreased from 90 to 80.
BTW I am on laptop and have 8gb ddr4, gtx 1050 and i5 8300h
