My laptop is not working after adding 2GB RAM.

Hi, I have an asus q301la laptop which has 4 GB of RAM. I added 2 GB samsung RAM to it but after adding it when i started my laptop its screen didn't turn up but when I removed the RAM which I previously added everything worked fine. Is there a problem with my RAM or my pc is not supporting it. Please help me to make the RAM work on the pc.

Most likely the new RAM is not compatible with your old RAM. You can test this by only installing the new RAM. If it then boots, there is a compatibility isse between the two types of RAM. If it doesn't boot, then you know your motherboard does not support the new RAM.

I cannot remove my old ram since it is in-built in my motherboard.
