Prior to the Crucial drive, were you working with another storage drive? While on the older drive, can you get to OS GUI? If so, use CPU-Z, see what your laptop's BIOS version is listed under Mainboard's tab and cross reference with MSI's support site, here, to see if your laptop is pending any BIOS updates.
