My laptop lag in games even offline

I have my laptop for 4 months and lately I have installed black ops 3 and after 1 day of playing it, it started to lag even in offline, I don't know what to do to avoid this to happen or if the game is too much for my laptop, my laptop uses an Intel core i7, 8gb of ram, 1tb and a Nvidia GeForce 940 m. Please some one tell me what to do so it doesn't lag.

That's not lag. It's low framerate. People call framerate slowdowns lag here all the time but that really has nothing to do with your internet connection.

The reason this is happening to you is because the 940M GPU isn't powerful enough for high end gaming. to improve this you need to turn the settings down. If that still doesn't fix the problem try lowering the resolution to 1280x720.

Also what is your laptop?

an i7 is not always the same in laptops. If that i7 ends in a U then it is just a dual core with hyperthreading and turbo core which only further aide to the low framerate. If it ends in a Q then you have a desktop equivalent i7 that is a quad core with hyperthreading and turbo core.

In BO3 you'll need to run a low resolution and low settings to maintain decent FPS
