My laptop won't turn on but the battery light constantly flashes

I have My computer plugged so I open it and it works for 5 seconds then turns off and doesn't turn on any more. I have plugged it in again but the laptop didn't turn on just the charge light. After a few seconds this lights starts to constantly go on and off.
What do I have to do?
My laptop is Sony Vaio

Try removing the battery and insert the power cord, and boot it up. SEe it that helps. (you may have a bad battery. Check your warranty to see if it still under 1yr warranty period)

Flashing lights on your battery usually means the battery is all used up and its time for a replacement.
