Question My lenovo legion Y540-15IHR, performance without battery problem.

So uh, my gaming laptop the Lenovo legion Y540-15IHR's baterry just got swollen and i just took out the battery. And running it on straight AC adapter. So.. My laptop can't even run a website game now. STAIGHT UP lag. Can anyone explain why[redacted] this is happening while other people recommend to play games on AC adapter?

You could try and see if your laptop is pending a BIOS update. Are you working with Windows OS? If so, open Device Manager, look for Batteries and delete/remove/uninstall Microsoft ACPI-complaint Control method battery from said listing. See if that helps.

I would advise you replace the battery with a genuine part.

I'd like to know if its possible for me to play without a battery right now? Im using windows

The battery may contain needed circuitry.
To allow switching between plugged in and battery mode.
That is why an original supported battery may be needed. oem "compatible" batteries may not work.
Yes, original batteries will be more expensive.
And check for a bios update. Your original battery may have swelled because of overcharging that is controlled by the bios.
