My maxtor onetouch 4 mini has problems connecting

Hello, there's a problem with my maxtor onetouch 4 mini. there's no icon in My Computer like :F and an autoplay appearing when i connect my hard disk to my laptop. i've tried using different usb cables 2.0. please help.. thanksssssss
