My Microphone has randomly stopped working (Can only pick up me tapping on it, nothing else)

So, I have this mic. It's not the best, but the audio was always at least okay. It worked for CS:GO and TF2 and the like. But about 3 days ago it randomly stopped working. It can now only pick up audio when I tap on the end of it. I can scream into the mic from 1 inch away, but it doesn't pick it up at all.

This is in all applications, CS:GO, TF2, Skype, anything that can use a mic, mine has the aforementioned problem.

I've been googling and troubleshooting for days, but nothing works. Any advice?

If it's picking up taps but not sound this is most likely a hardware issue (broken mic).

Fuck alright. Damn it, I didn't want to have to buy a new mic. Thanks though, marked as solution

Just to be sure, test it with any other device that accepts external microphones and see if the problem persists.
