Question My microphone keeps freezing at what seams to be random intervals

Hello, i have a ModMic 4 conectet via CREATIVE Sound Blaster Omni Surround. My microphone randomly freezes and the only thing that make it work again is to reconect the external soundcard. I have tried to reinstall all drivers, trubleshoot the microphone, change back and forth on whats standard. But nothing works exept reconecting the usb on the sound blaster. Sometimes it works for hours stright and other times it stops working every 30 min.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Look in Reliability History and Event viewer for any entries that correspond with the microphone freezes.

Are you able to test the external sound card on another computer?

Likewise for the ModMic 4?

Determine if the problem follows one or the other.

"It" being the sound card?

The microphone must likewise be tested.

Objective is to methodically determine if either the sound card or microphone fails (freezes) on at least two known working computers with no other changes being made.

Are you using any adapters, gender changers, extension cables, etc.?
