my mobo isn't in the supported list for win 7 even tho i only got it brand new 18 months ago does that mean i will have to get a new mobo

That amounts to the same as OEM's having QVL (Qualified Vendor List) hardware lists, especially for RAM. All they mean is that the parts listed have been tested and certified to work with whatever is involved in that particular list. That does NOT mean the listed parts, and only the listed parts will work.

Thx for the reply so will the vista drivers for the Ethernet and chipset drivers work?

Are you reading this? You probably won't NEED to load any drivers for Ethernet and Chipset, Win7 has most of the drivers built in for ancient hardware like yours.
