[SOLVED] my monitor does not run on external graphics card but runs on when connected to motherboard

the monitor does not get any signal when connected to external graphics card but when connected to motherboard directly it turns on and the computer runs fine, the graphics card fans are spinning but there is no signal on monitor.

go into your BIOS and look for a setting "default graphics adapter"
