My monitor has some slight ghosting

thats expected of a typical IPS screen with 5ms response rate. motion blur features is not 100% in them monitors. you can also try increasing your override level to 3~5 but you will have to sacrifice your graphics quality. you can buy a second monitor that is a TN panel if you want to eliminate ghosting entirely.

It's just not minor ghosting, have you seen the video yet? Compared to my laptop, the ghosting is wayyyy more

these are the common tweaks on the monitor to lessen the blur or sudden brightness :
* lower the gamma level in your monitor
* test the max overdrive (OD) levels that you are comfortable with
* use displayport cable
* change resolution or refresh rate
* change Nvidia/AMD color scheme (contrast/rgb/dynamic range)
* use GSync/FreeSync/Adaptive VSync/Vysnc On

im not familiar with your monitor and not all IPS monitors are the same. so i cant comment on that particular one you have tho.
