My monitor has vertical lines and weird discoloring.

You can see the black lines in the picture if you zoom in, and the orange Tom's Hardware logo is purple. I accidentally turned off and turned back on a power strip too fast, then this happened. The same discoloration and lines appear on the monitor menu.

I have a few other monitors, it's not the GPU or anything in my computer. Even the monitor's built-in menu itself is broken as well, which means something is wrong with the monitor, but I don't know what.

It uses a regular power cable.

which means there is 2 circuit boards in the monitor, a power board & a video controller. ever taken a monitor apart as I think you might have a domed capacitor on the power board or maybe video controller?

I thought that it might be a failed capacitor too as it is a really old second hand monitor from a company auction, but I was hoping for a different solution. Oh well. I'll try taking it apart to see what happened inside.
