Alright..so first i've many problems with my PC right now but i will start with the main one which is my monitor: MSI Optix G24C 144Hz so i bought this montior from nearly 6months but since i got it it had a weird problem, if i connected the HDMI and Display Port to my PC (GPU) and switched to DP in the monitor, it will display an empty desktop (No icons/taskbar/Programs).
but w/e i just disconnected the display port and kept using the HDMI and it was kinda fine.

but i noticed a really annoying problem after using it. when i turn the monitor off and then i start my PC(switch it on)before i turn on the monitor on, the monitor wont detect anything and it will display a black screen so i've to restart the whole PC again, same happens with me when the PC is on sleep, if i turned it off and then came back later and turn it on PC before turning on the monitor..i've to restart the PC and it is really annoying..so that is the second problem.

and i actually started to adapt to these two problems and ignored them. but after sometime..i've been seeing these lines at the bottom of the monitor everytime i turn on the PC (if it was shutdown/sleep) and it then start to fade after 1-2mins from starting the windows..so i was really worried about it and i don't know what is the cause for it.
these are the bottom lines that appear in the monitor: Imgur

i would really appreciate anyone who can help me trying to solve these problems, thanks in advance.

why do you want to have both DP & HDMI connected to the same device?

try just leaving the monitor on all of the time.
it will have it's own low power "sleep" state that it will enter when the PC is off, hibernating, or sleeping and no input is detected.

the corruption showed onscreen could be caused by many things;
possibly a low quality cable, the monitor itself going bad, or the GPU not sending a proper signal, etc.

try a different DP and a different HDMI cable.
this way you will be testing the monitor's input ports and the cables themselves.

and try the monitor on another system; game console, cable box, separate computer.
this will test if it is the GPU.

well it is not really important but i just stated it so it may lead to anything else or if someone has any clue w/e it is not a major problem.

well i just close it as i am worried about the light going off as it may damage it

Alright i will try changing the cable today to check it but i don't have any other PCs in the house..but i actually have the TV monitor so i will try this asap and i will reply with the results..but what if it was the monitor/GPU..both are still in the warranty so does that mean i can return it right?
And thanks for taking time trying to help me <3

well..i am really sorry for this late reply..but i wanted to keep it under test
so i've changed the cable from DP to HDMI but unfortunately the problem still there( the bottom lines) i also noticed that it is there when i just turn the monitor on..even before it displays any data from the PC..so i am not sure but i think that there is a problem with the monitor itself?

I had one since 2017 or 2018 and my experience is the g24c model of MSI monitors are all manufactured defective or wrongly programmed leading them to malfunction. everyone I have communicated with who has one has issues with the auto shutoff after so many minutes or if you set it to idle or sleep or whatever you wanna call it the monitor has lines when it wakes up that get worse and worse before going away.

Sometimes though the entire screen except the very top blurs hard black or green. It's usually even worse faster if you set the monitor higher than 60Hz refresh rate. If you keep it on 60Hz and turn off the idle/sleep/turn off after whatever minutes functions the monitor works almost 100% fine.... except part of the reason to buy it is the 144Hz mode and without that you overpaid...

Later in its life after 3-4 if you've kept it on 60Hz just so it's useable and doesn't malfunction you get screen flicker and no matter what you do it will either intensify and go away on its own, go away when you restart the monitor and PC, or it will continue u n til your monitor goes black.

Your monitor will start randomly going black for no reason and restarting the monitor fixes it but it stays fixed for shorter and shorter periods of time each time. eventually it goes black and never recovers no matter what you do.

Without telling them anything the people I spoke to basical basically gave a play by play of what I experienced so now I'm at the staying black forever point after about 4 years and 6 months of use. You could pretend I got my money's worth but I paid for 144Hz and didn't get to even use it cause if I tried it would malfunction green lines and hard blur to black or green so I couldn't see what was on the screen, If it didn't automatically revert after about 10 seconds if I don't click keep setting then I'd have lost the use of the monitor the first few months I had it and attempted to use 144Hz or even 120Hz. Anything above 60Hz it will slowly move towards unusable and worse if it has to wake up...

My point? Return it, avoid the g24c at all costs, its a defective product and I haven't heard someone with a perfect working unit yet.
