My Monitor Won't Work.

Hi all, I'm using an older monitor (a Gateway FPD1520...I can't buy a new one for a little while XP) but I just built a pc and this is the only monitor i have to use. When the graphics card is removed and the monitor is hooked up to the mobo, it says No Signal and will go into sleep. And i cant use it with my gpu yet as it only takes hdmi and dvi.

So. What should i do?

Get an adapter cable that goes from DVI or HDMI to VGA

I will try that as soon as i can. I was only wondering if perhaps something was wrong with the monitor because it wouldnt work hooked up to the motherboard

Can try resetting the CMOS, it should move the default video to the mobo.

Will try that right now. I'm new to computers, so I don't know every option I potentially could explore.
