I purchased the gigabyte h110m-a motherboard last year and I just purchased an intel i7 7700k. It told me on pc part picker after I purchased it this. COMPATIBILITY NOTES
Some Intel H110 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Kaby Lake-S CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions. How do I update my motherboard to run my processor? I don't have money for a new motherboard and need it to work for school

Solution
to be honest I would get a 6700k.
It is jsut as fast as a 7700k, without the thermal issues the 7700k has got.

well if you want the 7700k , all you need to do is upgrade the bios, https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1008276/
you can find the newest bios on your motherboard page at the driver section.

Have you tried installing it yet? Look on the side of the motherboard box by the serial number it will tell you what bios is installed on the motherboard. F20 is the bios you need to run that cpu. If it is F1 then the only thing you can do is take it to a shop and have them install the bios you need, or return the cpu and get one that is compatible.

It is always a good idea to go to the manufacturers website to check motherboard compatibility before purchasing. The reason your having this problem is the motherboard was designed for 6th gen cpus, but since 7th gen cpus use the same socket a bios update makes them compatible.
