Question My motherboard support Xeon e5-1620 can it support the v2,3,4 versions?

I want to know what type of Xeons my motherboard can support. Right now im in it with Xeon e5-1620

At most, it can support up to two versions, though I would need to know your exact motherboard to say for sure. Typically, Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge can work on the same motherboard. You have Sandy Bridge, and the V2 would be Ivy Bridge. Upgrading within the same CPU model (eg. E5-1620 to E5-1620 V2) would give only minimal gains. They are nearly the same CPU.

I was thinking of getting Xeon e3-1245v3
Becouse I’m aiming on a Gaming PC.
The problem is that the e5-1620 is a bit old.

C602 is the chipset the motherboard uses. We need to know what company made your motherboard (i.e., Asus, Gigabyte, Supermicro, etc) and the model number of it as well.
