Question My motherboard support Xeon e5-1620 can it support the v2,3,4 versions?

At most, it can support up to two versions, though I would need to know your exact motherboard to say for sure. Typically, Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge can work on the same motherboard. You have Sandy Bridge, and the V2 would be Ivy Bridge. Upgrading within the same CPU model (eg. E5-1620 to E5-1620 V2) would give only minimal gains. They are nearly the same CPU.

I was thinking of getting Xeon e3-1245v3
Becouse I’m aiming on a Gaming PC.
The problem is that the e5-1620 is a bit old.

What is the make/model of your current motherboard? With that information, we can determine all CPUs that are compatible with it.

It’s C602
Now I want to to upgrade my cpu from e5-1620 to e5-1650 V2.
What do I need to buy?
And will it effect my GPU or ram?
I got MSI gtx 1060 6GB
16 ram DDR3 ECc
